Hey Ron...I thought the guy looked pretty fluid especially on the steeps and deep powder..I think his stance might be a product of the ski he's on. Todays skis are more shovel oriented for turn initiation.

Still...I think the ability to lift a ski illustrates the ability to release and commit. The point that he is lifting quite vigoriously may not be as necessary, the reality is that the use of lightening the ski is an effective way to release the edge and commit to the next turn.
