I had the pleasure of skiing the 78 and the 84 Monday and tuesday. here's quick overview.

78- whoa! that about sums it up. Even at a a svelt 78 underfoot, I loved this ski, stable, light, manueverable, great feeling underfoot. Nice feedback without too much vibration. Stable, I didn't crank it up but it felt like it could handle speed. Skied it on loose natural and man-made. Some scraped off ice, bumps. Just a really nice ski. If I skied EC all the time or hard groomed, I would go to this in a heartbeat

84- Skied this on Okemo boiler plate  and some loose shaved stuff, over small hits along the edges. Another fantastic ski. They were mounted BC, I felt they could go +1 but you could tell this was another fantastic ski. quck, nimble, light weight, not as responsive as the 78 but I didn't have it in the conditions it was intended.  The runs were really boiler plate, shiny stuff--- not my fortay!  Phil skied them much better than me, he seemed to have good edgehold.  This or the 88 could really be a fantastic WC groomer ski for those AM's when the corduroy is firm but you know will be softening up.
