The issue with some Langes and some tecnicas is the have way too much forward lean. When the forwrad lean is too much the skier is plastered to the front cuff of the boot. Immediately people say, what's wrong with that, isn't that how you want to ski. The anaswer is yes but only if you can move back and forth away from the cuff. With too much FL, the weight is always on the ball of the foot. What this promotes is sliding the tails versus tipping the skis laterally because it is very hard to do plastered to the front of the boot.
When I was out in Colo in November an old friend came with me. He is a PSIA instructor and he has been in the same model Langes for the past 10 years. They have way too much forward lean. Harald told him the boots were a prolem and he didn't believe him. By the second day he started to understand why they were a problem. On the third day he bought new boots from Harald. As we watched him ski in the Langes it was completely obvious what Harald was talking about. Tipping laterally without first sliding the skis some was nearly impossible for him.
Now two biig caveats. Not everyne attempts or wants to ski using tipping and lateral movements. Any many skiers have no desire to ski any other way. They may prefer the forward lean because sliding is easier because the weight is off the taiils all the time. The other caveat is that some people with very long legs (like me) need a lot of forward lean just to get balanced ane centered over the ski.
It' fairly clear that the new Lange RX has less forward lean than the old langes. Glad you love them Ron.
