Phil: I, for one, am completely happy that your move to the west has been rewarded with such (seemingly) Epic snow conditions.

All: But I too still remember when I first started skiing and I would hear others denigrate Vermont skiing and couldn't understand why.? Vermont seemed pretty nice compared to the local mountain.?

Jim,
Your comment got me thinking about my first Vermont experience. In my youth, we did not travel much, other than the NJ shore, so I never saw "mountains". In my first year of skiing and about 25 years old, I made a trip to Stratton. The drive up was on a full moon crystal clear night following a new snow. Up the NY thruway and into VT., I was amazed by mountains! Now I know it was the foothills of the Catskills. Stratton seemed huge by Camelback standards.

Ditto for my first time in the Rockies at Aspen. Riding up the Ruthie's ridge on the original single chair. WOW.....

And Phil, if there is one emoticon that describes you it's? >:D? >:D? >:D
