The airport is only about an hour from the mountain.   

I didn't know about the Bend/Redmond airport.  I'd always assumed one had to fly to Portland.  The local airport seems to be mainly served by commuter aircraft.  Is flying skis in a reasonable option on these smaller planes?  Are there decent skis to be rented (with okay tunes when the snow isn't soft)?

I probably can't make it out there this summer, but it's nice to know there's another late season option besides A-basin.
