Gary, I owned the FX84 for about half a season. I never really loved the ski and I sold it. I bought it on Peter's review and I should have bought the MX 78 or MX 88. The ski is designed for the backcountry and because of that has less metal, is very light and they have a very different tip design which delays the hook up of the tips. Whereas this might be benefical off piste, it drove me crazy on groomed terrain when I wanted to lay them over and had to wait for the tips to hook up. In general I wouldn't say I overpowered the ski, but I was looking for something more damp, more powerful and with tips that would hook up right away. It is a nice ski for the right person, just not me.

I do have a pair of MX 78's that I bought used and I haven't had them on snow yet. Looking forward to it and I will write review when I get to ski them.
