I too am waiting for JBotti's review, but of the Ullr's Chariot.  He promised it to me last year     - and I am still waiting and interested to hear his thoughts.

I got the 178 Ullr's Chariot for me.  JBotti was considering the 188.  I think both of those are right decisions.  It's a twin tip with quite a bit of ski off the snow, and I'm 5'11" and 185 (I know both you and John are taller than me).

I would also check the binding mount and make sure it will adjust to your boot sole length rather than drilling more holes in that lovely wood.
