It's interesting that Peter's test really didn't rate the ski as being very versatile. For me, I find that some of the ratings are right on....others like the JJ's, which they liked, were way off for my liking. The Kastle 78's and Head SS...right on for me.

Don't know if skiing styles and individuals physcial statistics carries more "decision" weight with fat skis...just not sure.

Since Peter is bound to be a much better skier than I, I would not consider skiing the same ski that he would pick for himself.  However, I've found that skis that he describes as versatile will work pretty well for me, especially if they include the green icon.

I've always assumed that he can't possibly ski all the skis himself and that he gets a variable number of response cards from the various shops depending, mostly, on whether or not the shop plans to carry those skis themselves. If he got a small number of score cards on DPs, then clearly the results are dramatically influenced by the skier (and many shop skiers aren't nearly as good a skier as you).

The key in reading any ski review, I think, is understanding how (or if) you relate to the person doing the review.  A ski that Max or Bushwacka picks for their personal favorite likely isn't a good ski for me. That's not to say that they couldn't recommend a good ski for me (if they knew my skiing), just that we are dramatically different skiers (and the two of them are probably dramatically different skiers from each other). And as you know, I have trusted ski recommendations from you before even though I also would hesitate to ski the same ski that you would select for you.
