Todd...I'll pay for THAT video!
Hmmmm...I have some thoughts....
I agree about the advantages of video....I just want to punch in a counterpoint that just dawned on me.
Last summer I was trying to improve my golf swing and went to national golf store that harnesses you up and analyzes your swing. From hips, to turn, to swing plane I mean more terms and angles than I can remember, BUT all in the name of getting that perfect swing. THEN, they have the audacity to put your swing video up frame by frame against or compared to that of a pro. After numerous hours of trying to match up my stats to those of the pro...I tucked my tail and went home to perfect my swing. Did I improve in some areas...oh yeah...but ultimately...it wasn't my swing anymore. I was so focused on trying to meet all the physical movements, I forgot that part of golf is the individuals natural swing based on my body mechanics. It's not like I"m going to be a pro...I was looking for ways to loose the mechanical leaks. Ultimately, I found a happy medium and found if I stay within myself, use my athletic abilites, I could golf pretty darn well, not hurt myself and even....dare I say....enjoy the game.
Ok before I find a dead horse head in my bed....the training, the videos are all good...really good. But being truthful to yourself about your physical abilities and to what makes you happy doing your sport...that feeling.....in my mind rules!
Ok....I'm ready for the onslaught!
