Following is based purely on reviews.

Scrambler 8.  123-75-110  13.2m radius   sport,leisure skier icons.

Salomons, in general, are the French feel.  Light and lively as opposed to the German/Austrian damp feel (K2's are also damp) so primary focus on Salomon, Dynastar, Rossignol.

In no particular order, just starting the discussion:

Salomon X-Wing Blast 124-75-107
Dynastar Contact 9 or 10.  In this pair the 10 is actually rated lower than the 9.  The 9 is an excellent intermediate ski.
Rossignol Z5 Zenith Oversize (126/74/105)

Other skis for similar skill level (but will have a different feel than what I am guessing was the feel of the Salomon).  Some of the following have a narrower waist, which is actually superior for learning to get better.
Head XRC-800 (119/69/105) or iM72 (117/72/102)
Fischer RX6 (114/68/98)  a popular and therefore hard to find model
K2 Omni 5.5 or Escape 5500 (but not lower numbers, no 4500 or 4.5)
Elan Speedwave 10 (115/69/103)  I don't know this ski.  It appears to be in the right level, but lukewarm review.
