Mike, check out this How-To video from Tognar:  http://www.tognar.com/repairs_tips_information_ski_snowboard.html  In addition to epoxy, they recommend using short screws to hold the steel edge in place.  If you don't want to attempt this again yourself, at least you can quiz the shop tech in an informed way about how they would go about it.  But, talk sweet to Head USA first.  Maybe they will help you out....
