By now, Ron's first surgery is over so I will share this. When I went in several years back to have a ruptured disk repaired, I happened to ask the doctor if he had a good nights sleep 'last night'.  He smiled and said "No, I probably only got about three hours of sleep.  We have a pair of newborn twins and they didn't feel like sleeping last night."  Fortunately, his lack of sleep didn't hinder his skill as a surgeon, but he had me pondering a little bit.
