This is the rare occasion which demands temporaily coming out of posting retirement.? For whatever its worth, I want to add my blessings to Lynn and Doug for his complete and speedy recovery.

Its also worth mentioning that [exactly as in the wise thread title] the most important thing everyone can do is to think positvely.?
About 150 years ago, a man came to the Rebbe of Lubavitch asking for his holy blessing for a miraculous recovery of his life threateningly sick relative.? The grand rabbi answered [translation from the Yiddish]: "Think good, will be good".? [ie., It is in your own hands to make a "miracle" - positive thinking has a natural chain reaction which ultimately affects the whole universe.]

Today, this "secret" is already widely known, and has been observed and documented.? Positive thinking, and prayer, have the power to actually change the reality of the physical realm.?

The following explanation is also a deeper reason of how and why it works - beyond the "nature" inherent in the creation:
Belief in G-d Almighty's ability to do as He wills, and trusting, with a certainty, that he will bestow kindness and revealed good, itself is the merit which will bring about the desired response from Above -measure for measure.

Again, with blessings for a full recovery.

ps.? JB, I grew up living in a townhouse on E. 51st in Manhattan.
