Hey Greg...the 82's for me are just a fantastic ski. I'm 5'9, 155lbs and have skied them in powder, groomers,  spring snow, and soft western bump runs and they rock. I ski the 172 length.

Heads up though...(no pun intended) when I brought the skis home from the shop, before I skied them. I was putting on the first 10 coats of wax (thanks Jim) I noticed that there was a rise in the metal where the side edge and the shovel radius come together. I just wrote it off as a quality control  issue and skied them. As I contined to wax them after hard ski days, I noticed that rise seemed to get more pronounced.

The good news for me was when I took them back a week ago, they told me there had been a few bad manufacturing runs and they resolved the problem. I've got this years model being sent  for me.

If you're not seeing what I described when I first got my skis, I'm guessing you're probably OK. Otherwise, take them back to any shop that sells Heads. It's a known problem and I'm pretty sure they would make it right. The guys at my local shop were great to work with so they must have good support from Head on this issue.

Just as a side, I have the Mojo bindings and I've decided after much consternation (no not constipation) to have the bindings mounted 1 centimeter forward of the standard position. Having skied them this last season in the standard setting, they were 90% perfect with the exception being firm snow. I felt I just couldn't leverage the shovel enough so I'm moving them forward a bit. Will let all know the results when the new, overwaxed bottoms and highly shiny top skins meet snow for the first time.

Hey Jim...it's Ron's clothes that have the woman spooning and swooning for him...just stand back cause you'll get mowed down!

Best,
Gary
