Ron - not sure how many coats of wax the shop put on.  They didn't scrape, and left a thick coat on for summer storage.  They did use graphite wax (whatever that is -- has anyone used it?).  Regardless, I'll leave their wax on for now and redo the whole thing in the fall, including sharpening to 1 base, 2 sides.  We've been using those angles on our skis this past season, and it's worked well -- a good combination of grip and agility.
