We skied at DV two years ago, and you're right, it was not a quick trip through town to the interstate.  There are a couple of hotels right at the junction to the I-80...I'll check those out....there's a Holiday Inn, at least, though not my first choice as it's beside the factory outlet mall and the I-80.  Will do some research on that area. 

As I said, we only plan to ski at DV once, and the rest of the time at Snowbasin, Powder Mtn., Solitude and perhaps Alta.  We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in SLC when we were last there, and really enjoyed it - huge room, HD-TV, 1 minute to Interstate I-15, 5 minutes to Trolley Square, walk to the brew pub...nice...
