things to bring:? If your ski poles are strapless or if the straps just don't work well for setting up the hip-o-meter, then bring a strap, short bungee cord, or short length of rope suitable for making a hip-o-meter (two poles parallel across the hips, one in front and the other behind you, making firm contact with the hip bones.? place one tip to the left, one to the right, and fit tips through the strap of the other pole to hold in place if using built-in straps; otherwise tie together in same configuration.)

Also, you've never seen as many Head and Fischer skis in the ski racks as you'll see at camp.? Plenty of Rx- and supershape-series skis.? Use a labelmaker or find a unique sticker for your skis or else write your name on them with a grease pencil.

things to leave behind:? If possible, convince your skiing ego to stay behind on the east coast and bring only childlike curiosity and a lack of self-consciousness to camp.? Self-consciousness and a fear of failing (publicly!? :-[) is my biggest problem at camp, and I'm not alone in this.

I'm looking forward to meeting you and Gloria next week.
