My favorite location is over to the left with the Strawberry gondola and the view out over the Salt Lake from the catwalk at the top of the gondola.
I agree -- the view is spectacular.? But that area is only good if the weather is fair.? If it's snowing and blowing, it's pretty much a white-out up there.? That mountain is the first thing the weather hits after it crosses the lake and the plains, and it gets nasty at the top of the Strawberry gondola.? We got caught up there, and could barely see 15 feet ahead.? If it hadn't been for the fluorescent markers every 5 yards, we'd never have found the trail back to the base lodge.? BTW, if you mistakenly end up at the base of the Strawberry gondola, like we did, there's no way back to the base lodge except to go up to the top -- not fun in a howling storm.

That actually is my only gripe about the place -- when it was storming, there was only one lift open that could take you part way up the mountain to avoid the weather at the top.? All others went to the top where it was white-out conditions.? So if you didn't want to go up and fight the weather, you were stuck doing the same lift and same runs over and over again.
