Same with the other system.  Most folks find the light or non-weight-bearing end of the spectrum harder because of the balance challenge it presents, so early instruction focuses on this aspect.  At higher levels, those folks learn to live on all 4 edges (although on groomers they spend most time on the free/light controller foot end of the spectrum.)
