I think demo is the way to go . There are 3-4 demo shops all walking distance to the slopes at BC, there is one right in our hotel. As much as I love the 82, I think you need to demo. I am of the belief that the SS and the 8 are super versitle ski's but if there are several inches of freshies, then sometimes its just fun to bomb around on a wider ski.  The 82 would be a beter crud ski as it is super stable yet nimble to keep rocking on edge.
