Next year's plans
« on: March 18, 2008, 05:38:53 pm »
Unfortunately for those of us in the Upper Midwest, our season is dying on the vine (quality cabernet's, please).? This Saturday will likely close the season for me and thoughts turn to vanishing to my cabin in northern Minnesota on the weekends.? First job up there is storage waxing the sticks over a worthy beverage.

The 07/08 season was excellent in many ways.? I spent a week in Jackson Hole in December with family, spent a full season working with the local ski school in Minnesota and in February spent two of three days skiing in Steamboat with the esteemed moderators here Gary and Ron.? We had a great couple days and the third of my days after you guys left was epic (wrong website I guess.)

What's on the drawing board for next year folks ??? I mentioned to Ron over a beverage that the Loveland demo event in November sounds fun.? I expect to spend a week somewhere in December (probably Jackson Hole and Targhee) and another four to six days in late February.? It's time after many years to return to one of the "mecca's" of our sport so I believe that February will find me in Alta/Snowbird/Snowbasin.

As this season draws to a close, cheers to all those I've ridden a chair with this year and see ya when the weather turns our way again...

Greg

Greg
Great to hear you thinking about next year already.
My youngest will be off to college next year, so I hope to be able to ski a bit more next year.

A definite on my list is to attend one of the Harb camps of the Blue/Dark Blue level. I learned a lot, should have practised more, but look forward to a repeat next year. Working on the fundamentals will give me the skills to take to harder terrain.

If a RealSkiers 3 is in the minds of the organizers (Gary/Ron), then that is a strong possibility in december.
I have not been to the Park City area in several years and would like to reacquaint myself with Alta, Snowbasin, Deer Valley and perhaps try a new mountain. Have never been to Powder Mountain.

If I did all three of those, that would be my long distance budget for the year. Fortunately, vermont is within driving distance from me for a couple of long weekends.

Dreaming of a new season already!!

Yea Greg, Definitely count me in for November!  I would like to return the boat in December as I stay there now for the 2 weeks before Christmas. Greg, you have to come out! I think Phil is coming as well. We just had a rippin' good time last week with my Niece, Nephew and Phil.  I will gladly break out the Shamans for a powder day!

I won't commit yet, but last years RealSkiers was real close to Christmas, so the week of Dec. 10-17th sounds much better to me.
I just have to figure out who's cooking Oatmeal for me and make sure I don't wind up schlepping luggage again!!   ;D    (inside joke from last year for the info of those who weren't there).
