Forum Name Change
« on: December 22, 2011, 07:38:41 pm »
Earlier today, Jim tried out the "alter ego" name we have been considering

"SharperEdges Ski Gear/Technique forum

Personally, I would just leave it at SharperEdges Ski Forum and let folks  decide what they want to discuss.

Any feedback?
 Thoughts?

Peter K may want to keep his business name separate from the forum as it is in its current incarnation.

Hey Lynn -- I noticed that last night, actually, as I was ambling through the forum, that the name suddenly changed.  Seemingly spontaneously.  Quite unnerving it was, too.  I had to reassure myself that I was still on the same forum, and hadn't been hijacked to some Russian hacker's lair, never to be seen again.

Ratliff's posts still there? Check? Midwif's? Check? Gary's? Mike's? All there.....Phew!

Gandalf needs to give a guy some warning before he springs this sort of thing on us unsuspecting innocents.

As for the name, I agree with you -- no need to have Gear and Technique in the name.  Too specific.  Heck, we talk about all kinds of things here, ski related and not.  And definitely not just gear and technique.  Just "Ski Forum" is fine by me.

I admit it was a surprise to see the name change in reality mode.
For a guy who rethinks everything 3 times, it was a surprise!!

Glad you like the name.

Max

I am not sure what Peter's motivations are. But the RealSkiers name does belong to him and his original forum intent was aimed peer ski review. This forum is both more than that and less of a dedicated ski review site.

There is some background history leading to its current iteration. **** was the primary posting agent......a lot from countries out of the good ole usa, but plenty homegrown too. Jim took on the job of keeping it off and quite the job it was.

Anyway, everyones thoughts are welcome
