Yes tomorrow at 7:30 am I go under the knife and you never know how much my surgeon may drink tonight! OK, put your claim in for my gear now.

My eyes can't be seeing what they are seeing......wait... you have a ski speedometer...you bought one...????

Listen here Chubby....Ron's gaining weight gang cause he can't ski, have any strenuous physical activity, and well....can't ski.

No pity from your ski brothers....If the gear goes....so goes the condo.

AND THAT"S THE DEAL!

PS You can keep the white pants!

Wishing you a speedy recovery and may your body be washed, shaved, and however prepared for surgery by a voluptuous, gentle, and man hands nurse.

Ouch that "chubby" comment is more painful than the surgery!  You can post anything you want, but kicking me while I am down will just be a bigger payback later bud!  Ok, yes I gained some weight, I was at 182 last week but I was at 179 this AM. I will be back to 175 in a few weeks. "Chubby?", this is still stinging!  Fortunately, I have some some Tylenol #3 pills ;D  Hmm, now where are you staying when you come out to the boat? Alice is still welcome off course!  (OK, now that's war )

Ok wait a minute...Hmmm, the Steamboat card....gee Ron, 182, 179, 175...I thought we were talking ski lengths oh delicate and petite one!

Now go take  your Tylenol!

Oh yeah...I just realized my keyboard is substituting "C's" when I type in "B's" when followed by "h's"...that splains it!

Just thinking about sending you a get well gift....your favorite donuts are?

Get well soon Bhubby!

Ron:

The good news is that, at this time of year, the amount of skiing you can't do because of the surgery is a pretty small number, and you're going to have a great reason to get out and do some biking.

Is it a piece of cartilage floating around, or is the surgery starting off as exploratory to find out what is wrong.

My best wishes, hope all goes exceedingly well.

I beg to differ Michael, but it's "Perfect practice makes perfect".
Practice can also be the place where the bad habits become ingrained movement patterns.

One of the things I like about PMTS is the simplicity of the practice drills.

By now, Ron's first surgery is over so I will share this. When I went in several years back to have a ruptured disk repaired, I happened to ask the doctor if he had a good nights sleep 'last night'.  He smiled and said "No, I probably only got about three hours of sleep.  We have a pair of newborn twins and they didn't feel like sleeping last night."  Fortunately, his lack of sleep didn't hinder his skill as a surgeon, but he had me pondering a little bit.

All is well and I am feeling pretty good. I am walking with crtches to support me but I walked .25 miles with my dog 2x Sunday, surgery was Saturday. I had a horizontal tear in the meniscus on the post lateral horn, so I think all is good. The whole surgery took about 20-25 minutes so it couldn't be that bad.  I am calling him today to see if I can start easy on a the stationary recembent bike

What a great idea.  I had never heard of a stationary recumbant, but they sure ride a lot easier on the back (but a little weird looking).

Glad the surgery went well, take care.

Recumbents are great. I bought it a few years back when i ruptured my L5, I coudn't ride a regular bike and of course running was not an option. I ended up using it all the time since my knees have been problematic for a few years. It's very comfortable. If you go into any excercise shop, you will find them. This AM the swelling is down a bit and I am walking without a cane, there is still a bit of fliud around the knee and it makes a nasty sound when it shifts around when bending it. I am hitting the bike today. I walked another .25 miles twice with my dog. Dogs are the best motivators for recovery or excercise, they need to be excercised regardless of the weather or how you feel, plus they are so much fun you just don't mind.
