I do not understand the fascination with how light these boots are with race skis being as heavy as they are.

I am sure Dodge will have to expand into HP recreational boots to defer costs and be profitable.

For me, the fascination isn't with light "World Cup Race boots"; the fascination is that if carbon fiber can be effectively used in a boot then the other properties of carbon fiber become attractive, i.e. the lightness, can be brought to ski boot manufacturing.? I assume, but don't really care, if the Dodge boots are light or not, only that "someone" is being very successful using the material with the assumption that this will eventually lead someone to manufacturer much lighter ski boots with carbon fiber components or carbon fiber composite materials.

I bought a cheap pair of bike shoes this summer that have a carbon fiber composite sole. Much lighter than non-carbon fiber, much cheaper than pure carbon fiber and yet more than stiff enough for my level of riding.? Great value, IMHO.? Next thing you know, Louis Garneau or Pearl Izumi will be making ski boots.
