Happy Birthday Jim!
« on: December 07, 2011, 11:32:04 am »
Jim #1,

Here's wishing you a happy birthday and many returns filled with good health and skiing.  Your bicycling and skiing progress in recent years clearly shows that your prime years lie ahead!

Enjoy your Colorado ski trip with the "Fischer Ski Babe."  But keep an eye on her while she's on the slopes ... remember she skied with Satan, red suit and all, last year :o  And be sure to post a picture of the Ski Logik couple in your trip report.

edit:  Lynn's Jim / Gandalf / Ullr's Chariot Jim / Jim R. is a year older (not Jim #2 / Jim P.)

Lynn,
Any hints about what the FSB (Fisher Ski Babe) has in mind for the B'day boy present?

HB Jim, I'll do my best to moderate this group in you absence. We need ski reviews! And no hooking-up in the middle of a trail ala Elk Mountain.

Fischer Ski Babe bought Jim's present quite a while ago.
It is not nearly as nice or ski useful as Jim's Xmas present to me!

And frankly, I feel too old for any "hooking up mid trail" no matter how you meant it, Mike. :o

We keep a better look out  since that collision.  :-[

I'm not very good at ski reviews, but will do my best to put something coherent on both my new girls.

Dreaming of a snow-filled vacation, I am....

Happy Birthday Jim !!  Congrats on making it through another year!

I am impressed that you have Lynn thinking that you are only 49 !!!?:-X!?!

Have a wonderful ski vacation to Colorado! Hope everyday is sunny with temps in the upper twenty's; snow every night so that you have 3D powder during the day  ;D.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes.
Todd, your memory is amazing -- you'll have to share your memory secret with Lynn (and I).

LP: Q. Any hints on what the FSB is getting me??  A. She's letting me ski with her for several days, what greater gift could there be??  8)   Hope she doesn't get  cold in the red bathing suit.

Meput: Having Lynn think I'm 49 when I'm actually 38 is no big accomplishment?  :-X

Gary: Making turns like its 1979 would really suck.  I hadn't started skiing yet.  :D   But, then, BW wasn't even born.

Todd:  I don't mind that Lynn skied with Satan.  She brought home some of the Kool-Aid and it tastes pretty good.  Of course, I still like the occasional Pepsi. The funniest part of that day, though, was stopping alongside the road so Lynn could take some pictures of long-horned cattle. Poor city girl that she is, guess they don't have long-horns in the Bronx Zoo.

Yes, probably the nordica ones.

There is a PMTS camp the week we are there, so doubt will be ablet to do a lesson.
I was lazy about trying to fit something in the weekend we arrive.

But definitely a lesson sometime this season. I keep missing the sign up for camp! They close out by mid summer.

Now about Demo day. I am sad to say we will miss it and especially skiing wity you, Mike. :'(
Plans to go to Utah the end of january were aborted when it turned out that's Sundance week.
Housing is exorbitant then. :o
So we were left with the 2nd wk of January as the next possible time frame.
Our only hesitation was missing a chance to ski with you again.
We are hoping we can hook up at another time.

Vermont? PMTS meet up first weekend in February? :)

I, too, am sad you have to miss this world class event. Then again, as you have new skis, no need to demo. Perhaps we can meet another time you visit Elk (like closing day last year). I'm considering the PMTS meet-up, some schedule issues need resolving.

Enjoy the "Colorado Rocky Mountain High". Saw a JD special on PBS recently, the boy could sing!

Mike:
We could also consider another day, either at Elk our you could show us the finery that Blue has to offer (i think that's the name of your closest hill?)
The challenge is Lynn's weekend schedule.
