Post a picture of yourself skiing
« on: March 27, 2007, 11:59:39 am »
This was taken in Steamboat last week while on my mojo's.  Although it's not perfect PMTS form, what the heck!

Post away,  I know Gary's got a good one!

I might not know "perfect PMTS form" if it bit me, but looks pretty good to me.  Hands up and forward, a little angulation, feet look comfortably close together, no snow flying out from the skis so you aren't skidding the turn.  What the heck?  Are you enjoying yourself.

Thanks and yes, I was having a blast!  I need to drive that uphill knee through the turn more.

Gary:

We have been misled.  That's a nice looking jacket, and we thought Ron was the style guru.

Jim

PS.  Did you buy your Supershapes from your local shop that allows you to trade them in for credit?

Hey Jim....thanks for the points on the "styln"....

Our local ski shop maybe like many on this side of the Missisippi, don't seem to carry the upper end performance skis....I don't get it. At the time I was looking to buy, my local shop said they couldn't get their hands on a pair. Me being the patient (not) person I am....well, Ron found me a pair at Dawg and he gave me a good price.

All is good though....I'm thinking they'll get sold at some point.

The skis in the photo are that very bran spanking new 170 SS I had just purchased and received a few days before heading to Jackson Hole.

YEs, Gary is actually the true gear guru, I am just a gear ****! ;D  Regarding high-end gear, this is a real problem out east, aside from shops at the vermont/NH resorts. In NW New Jersey, you are hard-pressed to find a good ski shop with the top end gear, they all pretty much carry the "Ski" and "Skiing" top picks and forget about finding a supershape anywhere. I had to order my plugs from a race shop in VT, and then Dawg got my HEad plugs (which I returned).

Glad that the truth is out now.

Ron...you're a **** and a pimp...well when it comes to ski stuff...Whew...glad THAT'S out there!

But you're so right...frustrating to want to demo the "primo" stuff and it's just difficult to find.

Best,
Gary
