Maybe we should start a Emoticon thread since we no longer discuss ski gear or even skiing...

 :( ouch Michael...

Thank you Jim for the explanation as I learn and grow just  reading skiing and non-skiing stuff that appears here in the General discussion department.

Now....I'm going right off to post an article about skiing> ;D

I just want to thank Scott (Dawgcatching), the Progressors arrived today.

Perfectly tuned & prepped, as usual. I'll be using the Z17 Fischer bindings, borrowed from my 2007 WC SC's. The ski & binding colors don't match but I like the higher DIN that this model offers.

Now, do I wait until the base is really deep & consistent, or do I use 'em this weekend in Steamboat  ???.

;D Great new skis?  Go for it.  Use them this weekend unless the temps get warm between now and then or the base seems to be less than what I expect they will have by then.  I assume that most of the groomed slopes will be in pretty good shape, off-piste unknown.  At the very least bring them and play it by ear.

Michael...ya gotta bring em....
The base on the groomed runs is gonna be just fine. They never even opened up the upper area of the mountain until they had enough snow oh natural or man made.

Besides, you'll only keep them 2 weeks and out they must go for the next pair....keeheehee!

Rip it or park it!

I have a differing opinion, the snow shoud be very soft and something fatter may be a little more fun and versitile to jump in and out of trees and play in loose stuff on the sides.

Float at the Boat' yes.....float is used during the transition phase of "Harbesk" turns...
Let the float happen....use this key technique to open all mountain skiing!

Ok Ron, ..I'm being a wise acre......I know you want to ski your fatties until the cows come home.....

But...you have to admit...skiing my SS out at Greek Peak last week was pretty darn rockn' your socks!

Hmmmm.....I feel this is a bit like the wild west when the cattle farmers didn't want sheep grazing in the same pastures their cows were in...cause they ate the entire grass and root.

Come on...there's enough great conditions for both sheep and cattle to eat!

Gary

P.S. does that make your C-11's another sharing animal...like ostrich maybe?

yes, but you also have to admit that using your skills on a fattie in soft pow is so much more fun.....

Well I have to agree with you-all!

Jim, I am bringing another pair, umm... maybe more.
Ron, a mid-fat or fatter would be a one-ski-quiver of choice for da-'boat, absolutely!
Gary, I will always want to carve-'em up any time the surface is in any way firm, and skinny skis do carve better than fat skis...

I'll just have two bring 3 pair, it's the only solution!

Ok Michael...you can have your sheep graze in my ostrich fields and I'll prepare Rons cattle for dinner.

Now Ron...I'm not sure I'd say that the fatties are SO much more fun but when the snow is around the ankles EVERYWHERE,
the Wateas come out to cruise and crush!

Hmmm....I think we really should hire a ski caddy!

Well, the Progressors (117-70-100mm) are coming for carving, the Spats (120-125-115mm) are in for deep snow...

Debate: Do I need a midfat?
