Yes Brad....wax and sharpened every morning and having those angels on feathered wing transport me for first tracks...I like it!

Well the helmet keeps my noggin warm....hmmm...you're probably right...not needed...well wait....it kinda throws off my persona....orange jacket, orange helmet....I suppose there's no need for vanity in heaven...probably could ski wrapped in swaddling clothes along with the other "Saints of Powder"...ok .....sign me up!

Sharpening and waxing others skis....crap...I'm already serving that sentence cause I do others skis all the time....Nah...I enjoy it and the users can feel the on snow difference and see how nice and shiny their top skins are....hmmm....Gues s I might be Purgatory proofing myself....?? ::) ....couldn't be that easy could it?

So you think you are? going to one of those South American resorts?? ?Nah....with your sense of humor....we'll be on the same train somewhere down the road!

Best,
G

Gary:

However, as it is written:
   "No eye has seen,
      no ear has heard,
   no mind has conceived
what God has prepared for those who love him.

For you, I am sure it is as a ski ambassador of good will on heavenly mountains of perpetual powder.

Just an interesting thought.  Why does everyone assume that things are so nice and easy in Heaven.

Some of the most wonderful times in my life have actually been as a result of adventures or challenges.  Skiing on a day of reduced visibility and realizing, at the end of the day, that you had had a wonderful time.  Driving through a challenging snowfall to get somewhere, and then having a wonderful time once you arrived.  Some of the reward almost seems related to how hard it was to achieve, don't you think??

Wait till you hit 90, life in heaven should be nicer and easier, at least by comparison.  I suspect we'll have earned it by then.  If not through aches and pains, then by living clean.  THAT is sooo hard to achieve at times.

Brad:

Speaking from experience there, kid???  My wish.  My grandmother lived to 93, out on the farm in Kansas.  Died on the way to the garage one day as she was getting ready to drive into town for the mail.  No pain, no suffering.  I can only hope that I live so well for whatever my years are and not be burden.

Ha, I thought we'd been through this, I'm 53.  Yes, that would be the way to go.  My grandparents all lived well into their 80's and 2 into their 90's.

I remember an auto accident my father had and an older female friend wound up in a neck brace.  I'll never forget what she said as my father was upset at having caused her pain at her age.  She said, at my age if you're not feeling any pain, you're not alive.  Great lady.

Yep, I remember your age.  I wouldn't tease you about it if you were really old.  I'm 59 BTW, KID.? ?;D

Pretty gutsy post you added in the "Best Wishes, good vibes and prayers for Gary!" thread.? Can't wait until 'Midwif' sees it this morning.

Calling her fat are you??

Hiding behind others to cast aspersions upon the undeserving, self-effacing, saintly Midwif.? For shame..........is she fat?? ?Do you have any pictures?

But I digress.

Oh my wayword children of the flock....

Heaven shall be, well heavenly...of course.....vestal virgin snow at our boards....the challenge still I believe will be in each skiers attempt in finding the prefect turn for every snow condition....with all the physical worldly sensations of the body and environment. Then after partaking in this ski world Nirvana....it's off to the golf course..yeah .....that's the ticket.

Now....I suggest that the discussion of any woman's weight or body fat percentage be strictly forbidden as the fates of those perpetrators may find their fire? and brimestone in this world.....

Now back to my heavenly ski place......ah....cr eamy...butter turns....jumps..... cliffs.....anyone got a spare Reese's Peanut Butter Cup?

I like where you're going.  The sun is more appreciated when there are cloudy days so I think a job is in order.  I'm thiinking I'll run a bakery or maybe a small cafe serving scones and lattes in the morning, soups in the afternoon, and a variety of microbrews and appetizers like hummas with drizzled olive oil and pita points in the late afternoon and evening (for the non-golfers after skiing).

make mine a dark chocolate Reese's please....
