Where is everyone from here anyways?

Lynn= NYC. And usually do a couple of vermont trips each season. Perhaps we can arrange a later season East Coast,? RS outing for a longish weekend.

Me... hailing from Rochester, NY....

East coast skiing with the posse'....weekend get away......set it up.

Might I suggest Okemo or Mt. Snow.....

Month: late Jan or early Feb.....conditions might better.

Let's rent a house if we get enough people.

A skiing we will go...a skiing we will go!

Any takers for Sugarbush/Stowe???

Love the idea of renting a house if we have enough takers.
While Okemo works hard at good snow conditions and Mt Snow is nicely south, I find them both a little lackluster for multi day visits, especially Mt Snow.

Sugarbush has two mountains, varied terrain and an old fashioned feel. I haved stayed at a lodge on the access road a half mile from the base about 3 times. Decent, basic lodging, clean with a small breakfast included.

Stowe is a new favorite. Neat town, great terrain. Yes a drive, but the temps tend to support better snow conditions over all.

We have months to argue for the best hill!!  ;D

Hey Lynn..for me the drive is that much more but having said that....I'm not a big fan of Stowe...I hate that there are so many cross trails....I despise that after you leave the gondola, there are only 2 ways down both with huge traffic, crashes and turns.

Sugarbush certainly is a great mountain.

Okemo I like a bunch because it has such a wonderful variety of terrain, ease of access, easy to get around the trails, a great town to roam around, tons of condos to choose from that are ski in ski out, and easy to get to....51/2 hours from my door....well depending on the weekend traffic.

Snow in Jan or Feb...probably awesome.

Hey....just one mans opinion.   ;D

Cool. Sounds like an east coat get together is totally doable. Just for the record, I've stated skiing with a backpack, but I'm not carrying around anyone's Italian espresso machine for the day.  :D

Beer and blow.

Why do you ask?

 ;)

Water, a few granola bars, and my wallet. Getting older sucks.  :-\

Well I ask because I always wonder what hidden treasures people carry in their backpacks that won't fit in their pockets....

I see the water, food, wallet thingies...darn things always bothered me when sitting back on the chairlift....

Hey Glenn, being out of shape and getting older sucks sawdust.....so don't let that happen!

Ron...crimininy your backpack weighs almost as much as your new coffee machine....still it's nice to have a ski buddy on the trails that you could live off the contents of his back pack for 3 days....hey...one never knows.

Come on' you know its a little pack, and yes, it does fit little extras needed when your not on the beaten path. For me its more comfortable to have it in the pack than in my pockets. It's a personal preference thing I guess.
