I, for one, don't have a demo wish list.   ;D My skis are already better than me, so I am playing catchup this year.
Catchup to Lynn, catchup to Gary, catchup to Ron, catchup to Ed.  ;D

2 new pair of skis last year is my limit for the next three years.

I checked out the Nordica and K2 stuff. It'll be cool to see the new gear once it hits the shops.

I played with the Hart line a couple of weeks back. There are some "issues" that I hope get resolved but I can tell you that Cheetah is a nice wider ski for women!? The Hart Pulse is an incredible ski that I am looking forward to getting on. the construction and flex and light weight of this ski is just fantastic.

Many great skis, let see

Powder:? 100-120
Atomic Thug
Head 103
Dynastar legend Pro XXL
Watea 101
Line 100
Bro Lhasa's
Stoeckli PD pro

Mid-fat 85-96? (Watea94 current fav)
Head 94
Nordica Enforcer

Soft snow: Groomed
Dynastar 4x4
Hart Pulse

hard snow:
Head Magnum SS

Yes, the Cheetah boards are handsome, but those animal prints just don't go with my current white/teal look!!!
I was thinking the Great Ones (head) .
White and grey. Simple, elegant and.....over my head, skill wise! ;D
But hey, looks are what count, right??? ;)

Seriously, some very handsome skis out there. Graphics are improving, especially for womens skis. They are finally dumping all the flowers and girly s**t.

Hey Lynn...I would agree on the girly stuff...to phoo phoo...on the tiger print although it may not go with the teal....it goes with your personality....grrr rrrr....Roar! See now your looking at skis from a cosmetic stance....welll that's ok..but it just means you need to by matching outfit like some other person on this forum does...RON? ::)

Jim...I'm really not in the market for any new skis either but thought it might be fun to demo some of the new stuff out there for comparison sake....
wait...all I really have to do is demo Ron's harem of skis...yeah...

I do want to try Rons reverse camber skis....but might like to also try ( on a big powder day) some of the 100+ waisted skis just to see how they perform and if there truly is any major benefit over my Watea 84's. That Fischer Porohete looks very interesting, the Stockli DP PRO also could make for a good test. My most favorite wide ski I've tested is Ron's Watea 94's....it's got the wow factor....versatile too!

In all honesty, my Head SS are just the ticket for me up through boot high and in Whistler last year I hit some shin high pockets and seem to get back to the surface ok. But staying out all day on a shin high to knee high powder ski day on a wider waisted ski does make the event more pleasureable and more relaxing.

Test time is around the corner...

Best,
Gary

gary, I don't have any reverse cambers at this point. I know they are easy to ski in powder and I would love to demo them.

Harem?? It's all gone dude!? I have the 94's and the Shamans out west and the Dynastar LTD's at home. I have an older pair of SS's in reserve if I ski at home. I think I will sell the LTD's and get either the Pulses or the Dynastar 4x4's. Thats it.?

I have to keep the 94's as your powder board.....

Jim, what do you have now and what sizes?

Greg:

If you make it to RealSkiers III I'll let you try my iM78's in a 177 (last years model) if you want.? Course, you may have to ask Gary to give them a good tune for us.? ?:D? ;D

I'm sure that Ron will have SOMETHING that I can ski on for a day.

Ohhh Lynn Meister, I don't believe the Great One from Head is over your head at all.  Bet it would be easier than the Fischer Vision Vapor that you loved last year.  You are just a more powerful skier than you realize.  You could definitely handle the Great One, oh Great One.   ;D

Ron's Demo Week
« Reply #13 on: August 13, 2008, 12:03:48 pm »
PROPOSED:

That we informally change the name of RealSkiers to "Ron's Demo Week" with an expectation that Ron will buy/procure/trade for a select set of skis for all to use for the duration of the Real Skiers gathering and that he will provide regular culinary treats to nourish his 25 closest ski buddies (or however many show up).

All in favor so signify by saying AYE.
