Gary, We are all rooting for you!
« on: September 23, 2008, 07:56:21 am »
Gary is lay dying in his bed. While suffering the agonies of impending death, he suddenly smelled the aroma of his favorite ravioli wafting up the stairs.

Gary gathered his remaining strength, and lifted himself from the bed. Gripping the railing with both hands, he crawled downstairs. When he reached the bottom of the stairs, he leaned against the door frame, gazing into the kitchen, where if not for death's agony, he would have thought himself already in heaven, for there, spread out upon waxed paper on the kitchen table were hundreds of his favorite ravioli.

Was it heaven? Or was it one final act of love from his wife, Alice, of thirty years, seeing to it that he left this world a happy man?

Gary threw himself towards the table, landing on his knees in a crumpled posture. His parched lips parted, the wondrous taste of the ravioli was already in his mouth. With a trembling hand he reached up to the edge of the table, when suddenly he was smacked with a wooden spoon by Alice.

"What a Gaper!" Alice said. "Those are for the funeral."

Hope you get better!  ;D

Ok, first of all...it wasn't Ravioli, it was Manacutti, and finally to put an end to all the mystery, Gary is not dying, but is going to Italy next week for bike riding and touring with his wife of 14 years...

and all this attention cause I sprained my ankle......

Now light the candles Phil,......get out your cooking skills and best ingredients for RS3 cause I smell the sauce a cookn' and can visualize those delicate Manacutti shells awaiting the delivery of the finest ricotta cheese Steamboat has.

AND didn't Ron tell ya, I don't do Goat, Lamb or Blue Cheese.

I am assuming you meant manicotti? ::) (you are going to Italy!) Let us know when you stop the bleeding and can take that tournequette off  ;D If it gets worse, I will send up a surgeon and we can operate. I would have sacrificed the goat but I sold it last night.  ;D ;D ;D

Thank you Lynn....I will be taking lots of pictures and bore any that request a Kodak gallery moment.

I must tell you that I like most have preconceived ways of dealing with sports injuries..dark chocolate truffles and chicken soup may not always work but I feel so satisfied.

My Supershape Bro Ron was kind enough to call his personal PT guru to download me with the latest thoughts about treating a strain or pulled tendon. Thank you Ron, much appreciated. It's just the part about "the messenger gets free tune ups for life" may be a bit excessive. But, as fast as I'm healing....I might just owe ya!

Oh Lynn, as far as that sore a**....2 words: Bag Balm!? ;D ;D ;D
Best,
Gary

Phil, last nights candle light vigil was moving, you did a great job organizig it on such short notice, Bono's speech and prayer was truly heartfelt and I couldn't hold back the tears. The pope did OK too. Barrack was his typical genius self.  ;D
