Confession Time.....
I need a geography lesson. :-[ :-[
I thought Gr. Targhee was in Montana when I initially posted my question.
No, I don't want to ride 3+ hrs each way for a day of skiing.

I have had some thoughts of doing the same conference next year and then staying after and using a week vacation.
Having some variety of ski hills over a two week period might be nice. But BS, Moonlight Basin and Bridger Bowl might be enough variety! ;D

Back in the day, when my wife, the tennis diva, still skied one our favorite vacations was a 2 week trip to Whistler. No pressure to ski long and hard each day, much more relaxed. The modern ski week with flying on both days is hectic and we all tend to push our bodies beyond what is reasonable. So, I'd look for a reason to extend your "business trip".

Montana has all the ski terrain I'd ever need. The village at Whistler was a real plus, how did you find the after ski life at Big Sky?

I did come back feeling pretty tired from the  Big Sky outing.
But was also up early each day to attend sessions and some afternoon sessions as well.

There is minimal night life there. But I did not even try to  go out. Was tired and the olympics called. A beer in front of the TV was excitement enough!

There are a handful of restaurants, many with apres-ski live music. Could be pleasant. No village or town to stroll around much. Is pretty small.\
Sorry to hear about all the hit/ski-run injuries. Stay safe!
