I can see it now.

Kerry (who does not ski downhill), back at the condo, slaving away on Ron's skis unused
ski of the day.
He comes back with a few Buds and tosses her the rest of the days skis and asks "when is dinner? and how long
will it take you to do the skis tonight dear? I need to consider moving of BOF point further foward since there's now
powder forecast for tomorrow!"

Then the sharp kitchen knife comes out........

ummm, false logic.  no correlation... If anything, you need this since you have no toys of your own,,,,

Oh are we counting toys now.... :o

Nope...I'm afraid for me Espresso and One Tuning Tool are luxeries I find not necessary...

HOWEVER....I would point out that I got a new file made by SVST ....a diamond file...never knew they made those... $35....and whoa.....it works sooooo much better than a regular metal file....

Now that's a proud purchase I can live with.  ;D

G,
What grade of courseness did you get? Is it a file for cutting or a diamond stone used for polishing? I need to make a order to get a panzer to get rid of some side and want to upgrade my polishing tools.

Hey Mike....it's a Diamond file for cutting...It replaces my metal file....it's SVST Medium (red) and it works beautifully...I follow it up with a 400 diamond stone used with water too.

I would say it works twice as good as a metal file.

Took out the Tri One yetserday. We started with some old staright skis just to make sure we knew what we were doing. The tool was pretty quick to figure out and after aboout 15-20 minuutes of trial runs we took out a pair of Super Shapes. Thor has seen tuning by the best guys in the world. The edges we were putting down were the sharpest and most uniform that he has ever seen (and I think that is saying a lot). Setting an edge (taking an edge from 2 degrees to 3 degrees) takes about 3-6 passes (2-3 minutes). If the edge is already set, it takes a pass or two to get a perfect edge. You do have to deburr the ski with a diamond stone and then some emery. The only thing we don't know at this time is how they will ski. Based upon the way they look, they should ski great, but I don't want to jump the gun.

The sharpener is pretty easy to use and it borders on idiot proof (I unfortunately qualify with almost any and all tools). There are a couple of ways to mess up the edge and finish but they are easily avoided with some training and concentration. The biggest issue is avoiding any real pressure. The lighter the better and the more uniform the edge.

This is a massive time saver and supposedly the edges last 2-3 times as long as with a file. We will see. So far so good!!
