I think that the idea that skiers need soft and flexible boots to ski well is on old fallacy. I went from a 100 flex boot to a 130, then to a 150 and now I am in the Dodge which is more like a 170 or 180 flex and each time I found the stiffness helped me even off piste where the traditional wisdom says you need more flex. If you use your edges and can manage your fore aft balance, stiffer boots help rather than hurt you. As well once you get used to a stiffer boot you will never be able to ski in a softer one. The support that you learn depend on is no longer there in soft boots and I start to feel like I am siwmming.

HA and Meput enjoy your new boots.
