Some Good Results
« on: January 13, 2012, 09:13:48 am »
Couple of months ago, Gary posted that a friend had died very suddenly of a heart attack. Just prior, my MD advised that a cardiac nuclear stress test was in order for this senior skier. I've had this test  done in the past and take some minor meds to help reduce stress during high exercise periods. Test was Wed., and the tech called to tell me - that I did really well and exceeded my previous tests results, both on the treadmill, and, in the imaging of the heart compared with same 5 years ago.  :D :D

Wow - I'm improving with age. And, a great part of that is my passion for skiing. It just gets me exercising on a year round basis. Often, I think about skiing during a 30 mile bike ride in 90 degree summer weather. Climb that hill...hard. Another part of the motivation is the support and encouragement that I get from the Real Skiers community.

A friend tells me "life is not a dress rehearsal".  Just go do it! And for all you who are on the plus side of 50 or so, a cardiac stress test is a good thing.

And thanks for the support!

Like a fine wine.
All-Mountain: A common descriptive term for boots or skis that are designed to perform equally poorly under a variety of conditions and over many different types of terrain.

yes Greg...a fine wine to enjoy...a Pinot Noir perhaps...

Great news Mike...What I find funny is that I feel my skiing has been getting better ...sure the boots, the skis, and of course that fine wine...

It's just nice to know that all of us here share the same passion and cheshire cat smiles when sliding and gliding!

Let's keep those good results going!  ;D
