You have my sympathy. I know you really, secretly wish you had  our 60 degree  temperatures. Eat your heart out. ;D

True. Everyone is in a hurry for ski season to start and then equally in a hurry to forget at the end of the season.
Or, in our case, where vacation schedules preclude being reactive to the season.

our lifts are done running and the snow is fading fast but what is left is great corn skiing.

Earning you turns makes us sleep well

Corn snow is like skiing the best groomer of your life.

My hippie friend Diane likes it.

Carvin the corn up on her new AT setup.

It really is great stuff

Mount Washington is still holding a ton of snow, will hopefully get there this weekend when its gets warmer

Youth has no age.
Pablo Picasso

to be fair you have no idea how long I slept yesterday after the morning ski.

Wednesday was a time to MTB and hike

Stowe Valley showing what is barely left at the resort.

Never let go of your inner child

thursday was a quick return to winter with 2-4 inches of grapuel at elevation

On smooth long angle it was great skiing just enough so that you did not hit bottom

Diane made it up mansifield twice in one day. 4k of skinning is a pretty good accomplishment for an At newbie

I then feel asleep at 1pm and slept till 9pm. 4k of uphill is a pretty big day.

Remember play hard but rest harder.

I appreciate the intent of Picasso's quote, but I have some bad news.
The mind (hopefully) remains youthful, but the body definitely ages.  :'(

true but I feel as if people use age as an excuse way to often.

I saw a 92 year old women shredding spring bumps on closing days. At a slower pace but the skiing was incredibly fluid and skillful. That lady wins as life.  she also gave me and Liz props for being some of the better bump skiers she has seen.  Liz is literally 1/4 that ladys age.

Let face it even at 28 I have alot of friends who are already slowing down and not able to do things. Its in there head.

I agree with you Bush...but would add that nothing takes the place of solid ski skills and confidence. Conditioning, passion, days on snow, motivation, patience and discipline certainly help no matter what age. Age plays a role but to my other points here from my personal on snow experience are just as much a part of that factor and maybe more so.

downer man... ???

BUT living life to the fullest within your physical abilities and ski skills as we get older works for me....until the leash yanks back on my neck....statistics are just that....

In family,, business and life...living it to the fullest I can.
Looking at guys like HH and JC...both have said there skiing has never been better....I too feel that about mine as well....I know it's like a teeter tooter and someday, it may go the other way but hey even then...I'm still gonna wring out what I can and leave smiln'!  :D

Max:
Is this really unusual or somewhat normal. Could we schedule a trip for net year and be comfortable that we would have good skiing in mid-April (for example) of 2013?  Or are you just lucky that you live close enough to take advantage of the unusua late snow?
