It's an El Nino year. Typically this is good news for Tahoe, the Pac NW and the Southern Rockies (essentillay mid Montana and South). I am not sure waht it means for the East Coast as I don't ski there (maybe harder and bluier ice ). We are slated to get our first rain the in bay area next Monday. Tahoe will not be cold enough to get snow. It seems like the el niino theme of heavier precip is holding true, and staistically this should mean very good years for the places we like to ski. From my mouth to God's ears!!
