Late March is perhaps the best time of the season to ski Big Sky. The largest snow storms hit Big Sky in March and April. We are in a la nina year which so far has been excellent for Southern Montana resorts all running 20-30% above normal and 50-60% above last year (as far as snow). Last year was very poor (el nino) but the previous two years, March was a very big party, with new significant snow 3-4 X per week. Bear in mind that Big Sky gets about 20% of the avarge skier volume as do most popular US resorts. It's pretty much always empty and the snow holds up great due to the lower skier counts. If you haven't skied Big Sky, you are in for a treat!! It is one big A mountain, with terrain that rivals any resort in the world.
