I guess we are talking about the difference between what is possible and what is optimal. You can tip in soft boots, and I can tip in soft boots (and some skiers won't be able to). I am looking for the boot that will support me best in tipping first and will make that move easier. Stiffer boots certainly make this easier for me and for most skiers.
