caffeine is a diuretic, but that just helps flush your body as long as you are drinking water along with it.? I'm a Pepsi-aholic and have never had any signs of dehydration or mountain effects.? where's Dr. Lynn when we really need her?

No support here for the coffee vs Pepsi challenge. Soda is so sugary, that your body has to pull fluid from elsewhere in order to dilute it down to the physiological number of about 5% dextrose. Most soda and especially Pepsi is at least 10%, if not more. Ever notice that your even more thirsty about a half hour after drinking it?
As far as me, I'll be the skier with interesting looking IV solution strapped to her back, down thru the systems designed for Ipods into my arm catheter giving continuous, consistent .5 normal Saline with 5% dextrose solution. ;)
