Well, now, since I am just graduating from the school of Gary and JB boot fitting, there is plenty of good info here. I have really learned a lot myself. I felt I knew something but in the past 2 months, I realized just howe much there is to know and that with a few good rules, you will be fine. Feel free to ask away. remember, don't buy the boot by mondo, buy it by the actual fit and the boot lenght
Buy them stiffer than you think you will want rather than softer
Find a master boot fitter at all cost, if not you are just wasting your cash.
