Gary - I like the move it forward until tail washout, then ease back method.  More for my troubled mind to mull over.  >:D

It does make skiing, ski on snow performance sense though.

As for the boot balance, sounds like tasting urine to me ;D ;D

My dad who is a retired family physician tells a great story about being on the ward and the professor teaching them about the power of observation.  He would dip a finger into the urine and then put a finger in his mouth to taste it (never the same finger)  The unfortunate intern who wasn't using all of their powers of observation would end up tasting urine, and an unforgettable lesson on paying closer attention.
