Hi all....yep...we're back from Jackson Hole...veiwing the weather report 10 days before our trip to Jackson was pretty disconcerting. I always look for 4-5 days of sun before we arrive figuring the odds are going to be in our favor for snow when we arrive. Well....we had 3 days of sun and blue sky with temperature inversions making it 35-45 degrees warm at mid to top of mountain while it was -6 to 10 degrees at the base. This meant if you found sun mid mountain and higher, you found soft snow to play in...sping snow...it was a blast. Some of the big bump runs were much to icy for me to play in but the soft bumps built up along the edges soaking in the sun were fun and turnable. Jackson has some serious pitch and terrain so don't make a wrong turn.

After 3 days of sun we had 3 days of snow...1st 2-3 inches, then 5 inches then another 5 inches. This was absolutley rippn' awesome. Some areas had shin high to knee high to play in. We were blessed.

The last 2 days of the trip, we were honored to have John Clendenin stay with us and give us bump and all mountain training. He's so smooth and effortless in the bumps...a pleasure to watch.

Enjoyed great homemade Italian food at Nanis, Ribs and Chicken at Bubba's and as always, the infamous Mangy Moose for Nacho's and my 1 beer.....living large!

Overall a great trip with crazy variation in temperatures and came away with new skills. My wife's moved up a whole level in skiing end of the 1st day with John....very proud of her. I sure am missing those western Rockies!

BUT...Holiday Valley is coming up for 3 days on Sunday with Svend and 5 others and then 3 days in the office and off to Whistler with Ron and EdN....yep..no hardpack growing under my feet.

Hope all are living life and turning skis!  ;D
Best,
Gary
