Ha....tipping 15% in powder.... :o

Whether at Revelstoke, or the Sierra's, or pow on the east coast or anywhere....skiing powder is very similar to skiing groomers and bumps...for me, the techniques I use on the groomed and bumps just get dumbed down...softened a bit and PATIENCE is a huge help.

Oh yea we love pow....just ask Svend...he got some first hand pow at Sunshine and now is screaming, crying and dreaming about getting back into it again...He is a first class certified "Powder Pig"! ;D

Hoping to get more before seasons end but if not...the'll be plenty of groomed, bumped, soft snow along the edges to frolic in!

Hope you all get some!   Best, g

Jim P.,

You can get by tipping 15% in powder, although I prefer to be more generous on vacation.  But be sure to CB 100% on the first 2-3 turns in powder until you get some rhythm going; otherwise, your tipping may not affect the "service" you receive.

Nice Todd...

If I may add regarding the first 2-3 turns...it made me think of this thing  I was taught and I have a habit of doing in pow...

Bouncing,..... bounce with your skis flat for 10 feet or so to get a feel of how the skis react to the depth and density of the snow...it's fun too...ya feel like a little kid on a mini trampline!

OK Todd, I understand being 20% tip generous on vacation, but, how does one know where 100% CB is?
(just playing with words).
