Turn to the 11th page
« on: October 28, 2007, 07:12:18 am »
Yes...I'll say it now....I concede...Ron IS the styln" king....

I woke this morning, 39 degrees, sun shinning, grabbed the new SKI magazine and was trying to read every word from the cover forward until I turned to the 11th page. Now, I don't know what page number it is but it's 11 pages in.

So....right now....go get the mag and count in 11 pages.....ready?

Ok...there you'll see a ripn' skier in a "rock you socks" ski outfit.....white pants and all. This happy fellow is selling Fischer skis but he's selling more than that.....I mean this guy helmeted, goggled, gloved, pants and Whoa that jacket...TO THE NINES...besdies being a tear you ass off "carving monster"!

SO Ron.....udaman..... .white pants and all. Now....please go buy that dynamite jacket and get it in a medium so I can wear to too!

Best,
Gary

Oh, is this the same Gary who called me to describe the Karbon Gray Jacket he's drooling over??????? (and he better buy)

White jacket is sold I must stay ahead of the curve, that was so last season cassara!

This season, same ol' Orange Salomon soft shell with the Chillin' Salomon pants; green and light green, kinda camo. Then for warm days, Arc' Sigma red/orange jacket with Brown shell Volcom pants.......

Soooo much pressure from our Gear Guru...

I must search for a reason...there must be a solution to move beyond one ski jacket....I search my gear soul and come up empty.

I'm not feeling it.. :-\

Fear not! Seek and find, Knock and a door opens. Without faith, all is lost!

OK, here are a few very good reasons:

10- You work hard and play hard. When you die, the money doesn't go with you.
9- How often are you washing that thing?
8- Alternating 2 jackets will actually extend it's life as you are not constantly using it.
7- Your gray pants will already match the jacket (although a second pair of pants is a good idea)
6- you are traveling and the jacket gets lost or damaged or badly stained by Jim spilling his Chianti on it, now what? You have to buy a full price resort jacket??
5- Two jackets are not excessive
4- A different jacket with different kinds of pockets and insulation levels is a good idea. Your Spyder has too much insulation for temps above 25.
3- Alice says she's likes guys in Gray karbon jackets (well, she didn't say that but I need another point)
2-Your orange jacket and my orange jacket are too much for mere mortals to handle
AND THE #1 REASON:
I will be skiing with you for about 20 days this season, I DO NOT want to see that same damn orange jacket all 20 days, I'll chip in for it!

You'd prefer to see that "same damn orange helmet all 20 days".? My advice, skip the jacket and replace the helmet.? We'll all chip in for it.? ?;D

First Jim...you keep bashing my nice, cozy and visible helmet....I can live with that cause something something something something a rats ass.....and, it matches my orange boxers.

Now Ron...you instigator....yes I work hard for the money, hard for the money....song there

And so keeping that money in my pocket is a good thing until things wear out...
My washing of the jacket may occur twice in one ski season unless I'm skiing under greasy cables....besides, I don't attract flies.
I see the part about extending life of the jacket but it's one more thing I have to pack and with the weight restrictions now days..
Lost in travel...the airlines foots the bill...Jim spills wine, it's a Spyder...does not hold stains but if it did...he buys me a jacket
Man different pockets..how the heck will I remember where I keep all my stuff...and I'll have you know I've skied my Spyder in 60 degree weather with all the zips down and was very comfortable..
Good point about Alice....she loves new clothes...in the genes you know.
Well two orange jackets....hey man....we are the Watea brothers....Groucho and Marco Polo
And your #1 reason..I understand..but you see those 20 days...I was thinking you might let me borrow one from your wardrobe.
What did catch my miserly eye was the "chip in" offer....aw man that's so nice, I mean I really couldn't....it's just too much to ask....
knock and the door opens...I mean who would even think of accepting such a grand offer...

Can you wire the funds?? ::) ;D >:D
