ICELANTIC SKI's short and fat- really short and really fat!
« on: March 11, 2008, 09:02:21 am »
OK, you all know that I am a gear **** and are always searching for the next favorite ski! So here's the latest.

I just bought a pair of Icelantic Shaman's in 173. Its a twin tail monster (this is their longest board). The dims are

160-110-130, yup!? You read that correctly. Am I crazy? Well yes, but check these out. The running surface will be more like a 165-167 ski that has a 15 M TR! WHY? for a fun, kick butt powder ski. Please check the topsheets out as well.

http://www.levelninesports.com/icelantic-skis-i-145.html? scroll down the Youtube video, also click on the menu to the right (on the youtube video) and select the 3rd video of a dude demoing the Icelantics. It?s wild.

Here?s the e-mail from the owner of Icelantic

Whats up Ron,
Thanks for the email.? I think the 173cm Shaman will be perfect for you.? I ski the 161 everyday.? It rips in POW, blasts through crud with no chatter and will blow you away on the groomers.? They have more sidecut than any of our other models so it is extremely maneuverable and is great in the trees.? Thanks again for the support and let me know if you have anymore questions.?

Too funny! Yes, sir Issac, I am really hoping these things are all they are **** up to be. I have spoken to several people who own them and all rave about them. I just need some freshies now. Did anyone check out the topsheet graphics? Too sweet. I think if I don't like them, they're so nice, I will put them on my wall :)

? ;D? ;D? ;D

If you choose to put them on the wall, you need to manufacture an appropriate yellow stain, apply it to the skis, and then make the claim that it was Gary's fault that you had to retire the skis, because you just couldn't deal with him continually "MARKING HIS TERRITORY" on your skis? :D

I forgot to review the Shamans here so here's a link over to Epic ski. In short (pun intended) this is the Supershape of powder skis. Almost too easy to ski in powder and just a total laugh factory.  Ski them two-footed and balanced and reap the rewards of a super stable, fast, quick edge-to-edge in the powder and just rippin fast if you want. Pictures and video
