I completely understand why this it put into place; spammers.

But this error message keeps on hammering me. It'll keep giving it to me...well after 60 seconds has expired. Anyone else?

Glenn:  Don't know what that message is, I don't get one like it.

The only thing we put in place for spammers was to prevent them from creating posts in the General Discussion forum before they had 4 real posts elsewhere.  That was because there were robots (and a russian email server) that would automatically request an account, automatically respond to the confirmation email, and then automatically go back and post spam to the forum.

Share with me the rest of the error message?  Do you get it all the time?  If not always, any pattern of when?

Ohhh crap.? The enemy that used to be from without is now from within???? ?;D ;D

I have to admit I "almost" miss the days last year when we had to post gibberish just to keep the disgusting stuff from being at the top of the list.

I usually get it after logging in and trying to make a post. I'll wait a few minutes, try again and get the same error. I'll usually have to close the browser window, come back to the page and try posting again.

Do you have "cookies" enabled in your browser?  It sounds like a browser specific problem. I think the forum software writes information to your local system that captures last activity times so that it can change the display to show which posts are new since you were last logged on or since you last read them.  Sounds like it isn't able to store this information, so it thinks that there may have been new posts while you were creating your current post.

I get a similar error message if I am replying to a post and someone else really does post something while I am typing.  I get the warning message, but if I go ahead and hit yes or whatever the option is, it will post the message even though it warned me about there being newer posts.

Yep! But this happens to me at work (using IE) and at home (using firefox). It's the forum sending me a message; instead of my post popping up, that message is displayed. I'll try and do a screen cap next time  it happens.

No fur? Gee, should I feel guilty about having a fur-lined Viking helmet? Please say it ain't so! I'll never feel good about wearing it again.  Pretty sure it's faux, though, as it doesn't keep my bean very warm on those long cold voyages across the icy North Atlantic at the tiller of the longboat.

Cheers,

Svend

This error is hammering me. If I get a little trigger happy, I can understand the flood control. But I litterally have to shut my browser window and leave the forum in order to post again after I get the warming.  :-[
