I would get the x-rays and the all-clear first! Too much stress on a hairline fracture can make it much worse. Look what happened to Tiger at the open. He had stress fractures but while teeing off, the torque he created actaully fractured the leg. Keep us in the loop, I the meantime, isometric leg squats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lynn, hope things are healing well. For me, after spending weeks in PT for my arm...it was flexabilty first and then after a month it was very light strength training and after that month I could start to add some medium weight. I had to start with 2 lbs, a month later 5 lbs, a month later 10, 15 followed by 25 after 6 months.

Know thy body....I scared my doc and physical therapist...but all is good now!

Hey Lynn....where's your daughter going to school?

AND....tell us about the new job.

Best,
Gary

Gd morning to all!

Cleo is going to SUNY New Paltz. She got into almost all the schools she applied to, but the 45-50K/yr price tag of private schools was WAY out of my ballpark. And the whole family discouraged her from  getting into debt for undergraduate studies. Just not worth it.
It's a great small school, neat town, only 80 minutes from the city but with a rural feel to it.  The orientation was VERY impressive in preparing students and parents for the coming change in living situation.

I am starting work on monday at a city hospital in the bronx. I worked there for 8 years in the 90's. Midwives work with attending physicians in providing care to women. No residents, so midwives are the primary care givers of most of the women who are in the childbearing cycle. It is more consistent with the way I am used to practicing. The schedule is a bit nicer than where I was previously.

Well, it is mid-summer and I am beginning to really look forward to skiing again. Now that I will no longer have a kid at home, I am thinking of doing occasional mid-week jaunts up to vermont every so often. Since I will need to work some/all of every other weekend (as is the norm in hospital work) that means days off mid-week. No lift lines, less chance of heavy traffic.  Thinking, thinking....... ;D
