replacements for Kick pads, knees and butt areas.

To any of you who tear the bottoms of your pants or wear out knees or butts, I just wanted to share this suggestion. I just bought 1050 ballsitic fabric to replace the stock pads. For about $20.00 you can cover several pair of pants. There are other sites that sell this stuff. It's truly bomb-proof.  http://www.ahh.biz/products/ballistic%20nylon%20fabric%20FBN105.htm

That's probably some seriously burly stuff. You just gave me an idea...maybe I should start skiing in my ATV riding gear. Now those pants have some serious protection!  ;D

My riding pants have a good amount of reinforcing around the inner calf area. Makes sense, because that's close to the hot exhaust that comes right of the cylinder. Plus, some pants have hip padding...could be good if you take a spill on some of that wonderful New England skating rink ice we get a few times a season.

I used to ski in an older pair of Burton BioLight pants. Great pants, but sharp edges did a number on the area right above the ankles.
