We're going to try to get up to VT as often as possible. Hopefully, once a week. We have a week booked up there in Decemeber...we want to book another in February.

My wife wants to keep improving and has stated that she wants to learn to jump this year.

I want to finally learn how to do a 360...but as we used to call it "a helicopter".

Here you go....

Ski with some good folks, remain injury free, stop rushing the top half of the turn and other than Steamboat in December, all trips will be to new destinations...

Jim...you know our staff gear maven could probably find you a vintage muffler you could wear at the mountain.

Phil...nice 360....the snow sure looked nice that day!

Greg....what are the other new resorts you're hitting up? Ok, so skiing with good folks....ya got that part covered...RSIII!  ;D

Glenn....putting a helium balloon under each arm is not considered cheating...just buys ya a little more time....

"360" is what these kids are doing, that was a helicopter.

My goals for 2008-2009:

  • stop frightening decent folks with that crazy grin I get on skis,
  • stop faking it? :-[ and develop short turns that are bullet-proof,
  • spend? more time on snow,
  • watch and meet great skiers.
  • ... and avoid having friends "paint" my supershapes yellow? ;D
  • (red and white looks so mucher sharper, IMO.)

Todd...I too have SS and have yet to have them "painted" yellow. If we are ever able to ski together...and you want a nice bright Vitamin C yellow tattooed on your skis...I do know someone capable.

Now great goals for sure.....that short bulletproof turn is certainly a strong tool to have in your ski skill bag. So....come ski with us somewhere cause we love skiing that broken snow along the edges in a cat track space....Ron and I have been referred to as ridge runners.....we always have a great time.

Where do you live and what mountain do you call your home mountain?

how about the other turns?? ???

Ron,

Like you, I always want the things I don't have.? Gear ****, meet turn ****?? ;D

Actually, I'm worse because I covet other skiers' gear too.? I don't have an honest short turn, and I want one.? In fact I'm very picky and I want one like HH has.? Since you ask, I've got some other turns ... a few from Diana and HH and a reserve set courtesy of traditional ski school instruction.? My biggest stumbling block is that every time I start to work on short turns, I think "wouldn't it be fun to pull a bunch of G's right here, right now, on this beautiful slope."

Don't let me or those double initials scare you.? I'm only half a pmts fanatic -- I'm fanatical about achieving my personal success with it because it's the one thing that's ever worked for me personally.? I don't give a d*mn how other people choose to ski as long as 1) they're safe and 2) they're having a blast on the mountain.?

With time, I aim to acquire all possible efficient skiing techniques.? But one thing at a time:? short turns this year.? My ultimate goal is to ski effortless circles around your grandkids when I'm 75 years old? >:D

-Todd

PS you may ask why like HH?? If you don't agree with my decision, just ask your buddy the car salesman about the crazy purchasing decisions people make.? It's amazing what you can convince yourself you need ... like a specific short turn or a certain new ski or jacket? ;)

PPS Quit getting injured so that you can join me skiing circles around the young-uns when you're 75.

Isn't that like being "half pregnant"? ;)

Well, truth is supposed to be stranger than ficiton.?? ;)

Besides with the belly augmentation I picked up over the summer sidelined with a rotator cuff injury, I could pass for half-way pregnant if I donned a skirt and wig, so you may not be too far off the mark LOL.

Of course, I wouldn't want to disappoint you, Phil, so I'm willing to act the fanatic around you if you'd be disappointed otherwise >:D? But acting's thirsty work, so you'd have to bribe me with a couple cold ones.

Todd, why do you think I don't like PMTS? You woud be very surprised. Just becasue I dont' like someone's behavior or attitude, doesn't mean I don't like the method. The 2 aren't mutally inclusive. I actaully ski using primarilly PMTS methods and use it whenever possible. take a look at the picture to the left, feet close, upper body upright, hands out and level, decent separation of upper body and lower, strong countering. Hmm, what does that describe?
